Poppy & Vanessa paint the town red, white and blue

On the Diamond Jubilee weekend Loguestown Connemaras had their most successful show week-end ever, the venue Ballymoney. Friday started with Vanessa and Petra winning their classes then Vanessa going on to win Champion Pony Brood Mare, Champion In-Hand Pony, and Supreme Champion of the Show. This little mare was new to all this but she went to work the way we expect here and we are so proud of her. The lady judge loved her and her big walk.

Petra won her two year old class and had to settle for second best but she will be back when she has a few more weeks of grass!

Poppy has really wintered well and has lost none of her style, she really catches the ladies eyes! So on Saturday she partnered the all conquering Vanessa in a two pronged assault.
She won the Mixed M&M class and was Supreme M&M Champion. She then won her Connemara class and was crowned Supreme Connemara Champion, Vanessa was 4th and 2nd in these classes but went so well and had learned a lot from the previous evening.
The Best In Show was next up where all the different breed Champions battled it out for the top accolade. Poppy was given Second Reserve behind Balmoral Champions so no bad day really.
Well done Lynsey who Vanessa went really sweet for and thanks to our support crew/camera crew/unpaid groom, Judith.

I have only started to learn how to break horses in riding and get help from Fiona and others with more experience, when needed. So far all our ponies have been successful under saddle and we hope this continues in the future.
