About Poppy

Poppy is a really sweet grey/dun Connemara mare, she was lightly shown in the 2010 season and was presented for inspection for inclusion in the Connemara Pony Breeders Stud Book. She passed easily and is now a class 1 registered mare. Poppy will not go to stud this year, she will be shown and left to mature.(2011)

Now broken and riding Poppy has excelled in her first full season of showing (2012). She has won numerous classes both in-hand and ridden including Reserve Overall Supreme (Ridden) at the IPS Championship show at Knockagh View Equestrian Centre.
She has won in both show-jumping and Working Hunters late in the season and we are looking forward to a full season in 2013

Poppy has had an even more successful season in 2013 not being placed below 2nd in any field so far. She maintained this record in Dublin Horse Show where she was placed 2nd in the 4 and 5 year old ridden connemara class, the pony that beat her then went on to take ridden connemara champion! 10.08.13.

Poppy has a varied career with us and alongside her many sucesses in showing and working hunter classes she has sucessfully competed at Intermediate level in Dressage Ireland competitions. The plan for Poppy is to now return to stud to continue her family line.
